Fullers Ferries Ease Up on the Throttle

In an effort to save money on fuel costs, while reducing CO2 emissions, Fullers ferries to Waiheke have decided to drive at a slightly reduced speed. Additionally, the ferries have been outfitted with more energy efficient technology to further save energy.

After conducting a fleet check audit, Fullers have determined that by operating their ferries to Waiheke at a reduced speed they can save $50,000 to $60,000 per year on their fuel costs. In addition, Fullers has invested in more energy efficient technology such as different propellers and a new substance that will coat the bottom of their ferries that prevents underbottom growth, allowing the ferries to move through the water easier.
