Free Fleet Check Audits for small fleets

GreenFleet in conjunction with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) are offering free vehicle Fleet Check reviews for fleets up to 50 vehicles. The reviews use EECA’s process for auditing vehicle fleets and are based on EECA’s fleet management guidelines “EconoDrive”.

The areas examined include:
• Vehicle use policy
• Vehicle acquisitions
• Vehicle models and makes
• Monitoring practises
• Fuel economy
• Vehicle duties
• Distances travelled and utilisation
• Maintenance

The performance of the fleet and the potential for improvement is then evaluated based on the following criteria:
• Current practise compared with best practise
• Potential fuel savings
• Potential monetary savings
• Ease to accomplish saving
• Initiation cost to do

Fleet audits that have been carried to date have been very effective in identifying opportunities to reduce costs. These opportunities include:
• Improving fuel monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
• Better matching of vehicles with task requirements
• Rationalising vehicle numbers
• Improved trip management – less driving and more work
• Improving driving habits
• Identifying fuel card inconsistencies

The potential savings can be significant. Fleet audits can identify opportunities to reduce total fleet operating costs by more than 20% and fuel savings of 10%.
