Title: Auckland Bike Wise to Work

Bike Wise has teamed up with ARTA to create a new competition specifically for workers in the Auckland Region.  Run in conjunction with The Bike Wise Challenge, Bike Wise to Work runs from 18 January to 9 April 2010.

Bike Wise to Work is aimed at people who don’t currently bike to work but would like some support to give it a go.  Anyone who works in Auckland can sign up for the challenge and receive a series of weekly emails providing helpful advice, tips and motivational support to those who want to turn their trip to work into something better.

To take part in Bike Wise to Work, all you have to do is register at www.bikewisetowork.co.nz and complete and log at least 10 bike trips to or from work during the course of the 12 weeks.

When you sign up, you’ll receive a local cycle map to help you plan your route. Trips can be logged on the website to help you monitor your progress with ease, and for each trip logged you will be rewarded with entry into a monthly prize draw to be in with a chance to win some great Avanti gear and movie vouchers.

Can I take part in the Bike Wise Challenge as well?
Yes – if you work in the Auckland region.  Sign up to Bike Wise to Work and your details will automatically be registered for the Bike Wise Challenge.  Log all your trips at Bike Wise to Work (note that only your trips to work will count towards Bike Wise to Work, but if you log recreational trips they will count towards the Bike Wise Challenge).

If you live and work outside of the Auckland region then you can sign up your organisation for the Bike Wise Challenge only, which is a nationwide competition.

It's easy to take part!

  1. Register on the website
  2. Ride a bike to/from work between Monday 18 January to Friday 9 April 2010
  3. Log your cycling on the Challenge website
  4. Encourage your colleagues to have fun riding a bike too!

Bike To Work challenges you to make 10 trips (one way only) to/from work. You need to complete 10 trips to be eligible for the major prize draw.

* Using motorcycles, scooters, static bikes or exercise bikes does not count as riding a bike. People will need to ride an actual bicycle for their participation to count.

* Only people who are working within the Auckland Region will be eligible for the prizes and giveaways.
